Post Treatment

After returning from treatment you’ll be free of alcohol addiction and perfectly placed to continue your recovery.

During this stage of your recovery, you will learn to put the tools that you learned in early abstinence to use in other areas of your life, so that you can continue to live a truly sober lifestyle. You will learn new skills and tools to help you deal with many different aspects of life, without needing to return to drinking.

Preventing a relapse
After you have successfully given up drinking, starting again (or relapsing) is common. There are a number of ways that you can plan ahead and minimise the risks of this happening to you. It's important to remember that treatment for alcohol dependence is an ongoing process.

Amongst the options available to you is finding your local group with www.alcoholics-anonymous.org.uk and they can help you get your life back to normal.

You are more likely to successfully give up drinking if you receive help and support from family and friends, mutual support groups, your GP or from a counsellor.
